StepUP partner ACR organises a workshop with architecture students from the University of Navarra

On February 19th, StepUP project partners from ACR celebrated, as part of the course “Constructive Design”, a workshop targeting 5th undergrade architecture students from the University of Navarra.

María Ibañez, head of R&D projects at ACR, moderated the workshop that was divided in two main sections: industrialisation and digitalisation. During the first part, StepUP project was presented, as well as its consortium members, the P&P solutions and the current challenges of implementing these systems on site.

On the other hand, the second part of the workshop was focused on discussing about all the procedures and methodologies involving industrialisation, with a special emphasis on Lean Construction methods and specifically on the Lean Methodology for building renovation projects developed within StepUP.

The workshop, organised in collaboration with the University of Navarra, is part of the activities of the StepUP Spanish pilot and was attended by over 40 undergraduate students.

About the Spanish StepUP pilot

The project’s deep renovation solutions are being demonstrated in three different types of buildings. The Spanish pilot has the objective to demonstrate the project’s Plug & Play technologies – a façade envelope and & cooling system – separately in two locations in the city of Pamplona. Both technologies’ impact will be evaluated in a digital twin of a multi-owner apartment block in Pamplona to correlate the impact of the Plug & Play solutions on the pilots to multi-family residential dwellings.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 847053.
